Polka dots
A very enjoyable book club bash last night - the evening started well with the most colossal moon rising over the church in Durrus. I stopped to take pix but only had my phone which rather scarily was set on selfie mode! Pot luck food was delicious and tons of it - nut roast, baked potatoes, my rice salad, and an Italian hearty soup, followed by lemon drizzle cake and tarte tatin! We watched Dean Spanley - a most unusual film - one one level about a man who after he has some posh wine can remember his previous life as a dog, on a higher level its about loss and grieving, one of Peter O Toole's last films. What made it even more interesting is the original book was by Lord Dunsany, an eccentric Irish peer, and my pal Finola's mother ended up living in a cottage on the estate. The family are still there, existing in crumbling grandeur.
After yesterday's beautiful day we have had rain of Biblical proportions today and are now waterlogged. I have had a useful day cleaning and wrapping presents and Himself has made inroads into food shopping prior to the sons arrival on Monday. Today's AT theme is Dots - the fruit cage was involved for this with extra dottiness for background. A mistle thrush was stuck in the cage so I had to mount a rescue operation as well as blipping. Thanks to Ingeborg for inspiring us.
