Photoelastic Dots

Take one iPad with a blank white screen, a plastic tray with dotty pattern, and a camera with polarizing filter fitted. A few minutes later the magic of Photoelasticity reveals the stress distribution of the plastic as a colourful abstract pattern.

A bit of editing using Snapseed on the aforementioned iPad provides my entry to this week's Abstract Thursday challenge set by Ingeborg.
