christmas hell

i volunteered to go along with the rents to do the christmas food shopping this evening.

at 8.30pm this place was still heaving. i've never seen so many stressed, miserable and grumpy people in one place, pushing and shoving and generally being rude. at a time of love and sharing. it was hideous, hideous, hideous!

and slightly ironic that 'feed the world' was on repeat as people filled their trollies to bursting point. interesting.

maybe this time next year i'll be having a quiet christmas in malawi with my folks eating nseema and fresh fish from the lake?!
