On stage
We caught a performance of Cirque du Soleil's latest production tonite: Totem.
I was a bit disappointed: with each new performance, the productions are getting more "commercial." What I used to love about Cirque is that each act subtly enhanced the story line, with amazing choreography and beautiful movements. It was rather like watching a ballet. Now, it is trending more towards a loosely assembled set of circus acts and acrobatics. Give the general public what it wants?
I took this quick shot before the performance started as no photos are allowed, but kept thinking how wonderful it would be to capture the interplay of movement, costumes and light. Must find an opportunity elsewhere at some point :)
