This plant originated in the Americas, but is found all over the world now days. As a cute little nickname try Locoweed. The Datura plant is used for medicinal purposes and also as a deliriant. In ancient cultures it was used to cure many afflictions and as a spiritual helper in religious ceremonies. It is a member of the Deadly Nightshade family, the hint here is don't mess with this pretty flower. The bloom and it seeds can kill, and has killed a lot of recreational drug user. Many a hippy of the good old days thought that using it to get high was a good idea. Well many of them did get high, high enough to say hello to God, and become a permanent member of his household. How the heck did I ever survive the 60's and the 70's, chalk it up to dumb luck!
