Terrific Tuesday
Today's photo could be deceiving but it sums up our day. It was taken in the early afternoon at Bad Water Basin in Death Valley Arizona.
I walked out from where we had parked to the middle of the Basin, I was 282ft below sea level, there was a breeze blowing, probably 25mph, and the air temperature was a 'skin tingling' 126*F/52*C. It was so hot that Clare, John and Joshua went back to the car and although Sam started to walk out with me she turned back after 100m.
When I got back to the car and climbed in everything, clothes, skin and hair was hot to touch and within minutes I was sweating buckets!!
The began with another early start we were on the road by 08:30 heading for Death Valley. We spent the day cross crossing Death Valley and had a wonderful time, very difficult to put into words how magnificent and breath taking the scenery is, how desolate, remote and hot.
We arrived back at 'Grizzly Towers' at 11:30pm tired but happy after another glorious day.
Tomorrow is our last full day - Sad Times!
