Fortunately my portion sizes for the work winter festive meal were substantially smaller than most others visible on the table. The menu had a noticeable LARGE MEAT theme, with oversized steaks and burgers, but my sort of beef dumplings were more like meat falafels and my main course was a relatively small bowl of sausages and mash. It was still enough to sit heavily in my stomach for the three hours until film-time, where there was a surprising lack of people and absence of queue for a release-day viewing of a Space Film.
