Soaking

Mmmm! The kitchen smells wonderful! Dried fruit and orange zest soaking overnight in orange juice and brandy, in preparation for baking the Christmas cake tomorrow morning. The recipe says "Bake at least a week before you eat it", so it'll just about be ready for Christmas Day.

A few more cards posted, a carefully worded email sent to an awkward customer, and a few little domestic chores done. May just pour myself  a small brandy (and a whisky for MrM), sit down and write the last few cards...
