A Day For Ducks

This was the view out my hospital window this morning. Wetter than an otter's pocket, as they say.
I formed an escape committee of one and managed to be released after lunch instead of Monday as my "dose rate" was done low enough. The radio-iodine treatment is a surreal experience with the tablet brought in a steel trolley, and me being scanned from the doorway twice daily. As usual, our fantastic NHS staff looked after me royally. Incidentally, I Googled how much my two surgeries (thyroidectomy & laparoscopic gall bladder removal) this year and treatments would have cost me if I lived in the US today - over $200k!
Anyhoo, back home now :)
