Quiet Day

A quiet day at the Castle before the masses descend tomorrow for the Christmas market. I'll be staying away from the crowds at home.

Whilst showing a guest around the Castle this afternoon at closing time I paused in the library - my favourite room - and enjoyed the tranquility as the clock chimed. Oh for the chance to sit there and admire the books. Wouldn't that be just wonderful?

A stranger's kindness cheered me up no end this evening when the local garage owner didn't charge me for a wheel repair, simply saying "Happy Christmas!" How lovely.
