Irreplaceable
Received dreadful news y'day ... can hardly bear to I write about it myself ...
On Sunday, as Louise was competing in a cross country event on Whisper, he suffered a massive heart attack and died instantly.
Lou ended up underneath him as he fell and it all happened in front of Lou's mum.
Physically Lou's fine but she's brokenhearted, as are we all. Whisper was part of the family. There's not many horses you take down the pub with you to share a packet of crisps and have a slurp of your beer!
Lou's had him since he was 5 yrs old, brought him on to be a great eventer and he totally trusted her. If she asked him to jump something, he would.
Two weeks ago a family from the village that Lou and James recently moved to, came up to see the horses and as we were talking about Whisper Lou said how he was irreplaceable. She repeated that again last night ... I agree with her, but said that when she's ready we should look for another horse that needs a great home as there are lots of horses out there that need the sort of care she gives.
I can understand how devastated she tho as I've cried all the way thru this write up, as I did as I drove to the farm y'day and then again on the way home and in bed last night.
