Clan gathering

This evening the Duncan clan gathers in the Bruntsfield hotel for its annual festive meal. Megan is there with one of her flat mates, but they leave early to go to the mosque homework club's xmas party - go figure.

Hamish is also around. He's been staying in Edinburgh getting physio for his crushed hip/pelvis, acquired during rugby. He has X-rays on his phone that he displays proudly. Stepping gingerly outside for a smoke (he's walking, but not without pain), he finds a parking ticket on his car. They had thought that payment was only needed until 5:30. Oops.

Angus gets a much needed hoody and a couple of EDM discs. He's not in the best of moods. I don't remember enjoying family events either.

Cameron is quiet. Johnny is unusually well behaved. Louise and Claire have a civilised chat. Rob is at the other end of the table.

The food is fine - nothing special, but well prepared and reasonably tasty. Angus' verdict: mediocre. He's been well educated ;)

Rob sneakily pays the bill and refuses contributions. I celebrate by getting brandy for those that want. And then we're off home. An episode of Silicon Valley and bed by 10.
