Wool

The 28 lambs were shorn today and they and their mothers are now in a paddock of fresh grass.  N.Z. is dependent on the Chinese market for coarse wool and when China reduces the amount of wool it buys from us, the price drops.  At the moment it's low and the wool cheque probably won't cover the cost of shearing.  Fine Merino wool is still fetching high prices but this part of the country isn't really suitable for Merino sheep. My sheep are all Romney X.
