Renewal

Eighty years ago today Arnside's Promenade Gardens were opened by the wife of the then Member of Parliament.

They had begun to look rather old and tired. Thanks to the work of wonderful village volunteers and the support of the Parish Council they have been revitalised with new shrubs and turf.
Today, our MP Tim Farron, came to reopen the gardens. The picture shows him planting a new Rowan tree.
We can hope that in a few years the Waxwings will be coming to enjoy the berries.
