Tentsmuir Sands
Tentsmuir "Tents Moor" is named after the Danish sailors who camped there after their fleet was shipwrecked in the 1780s. It was a home to shipwrecked sailors and vagabonds long before that, and in the 12th century a monk described it as a lawless region populated by "devils, bears and oxen". It's a National Nature Reserve now, with a huge area of beach and forest.
This is the walk Mrs P and I intended for last Saturday, when I broke a tyre valve. I was pleased to get the car back in service early this morning - it took that long to get a replacement valve stem to fit the sensor. Before that I didn't want to drive unnecessarily with one summer and one winter tyre on the front.
