Steffi & Flash

Flash was born on 16.08.2003 in Grosskitzighofen where we used to live and where Maria still lives. He came to us on 6.10.2003.

He was a present from good friends, the Schusters who had bred him from their Border Collie bitch "Asta". I had been responsible for them getting Asta, in 1995, to help around their farm after their old dog had died. Alois, not knowing BCs frowned at my suggestion of a BC, even after I showed him film clips from One Man and his Dog. By chance I saw an ad from a woman with a young BC in a flat with a small garden wanting to sell Asta. Very reluctantly Alois went along and returned with the 5 month old, remarking "won't stand a chance against my bull and the girls, but at least it can roam around the yard and will have a better life". It didn't take too many days before his jaw dropped to the floor when he saw what Asta could do, driving out the milking herd through the village to the pastures.

Alois had often offered us a pup but we had always refused as we both worked full time. Now that we had different circumstances and possibilities plus it was Asta's last set of pups, we accepted.
