Alive and dead ....

A slight frost today, but still mild. Not good weather for housed cattle. Had to jag 2 calves yesterday and another 2 tonight with the start of pneumonia . All doing semaphore with their lugs down, and a temp of between 104 /105F . The normal temp for a beast should be around 101.5 F. Hopefully it will be only the odd few to give antibiotics and not150 or more . A social afternoon as brother in law and wife and family plus " my favourite mother in law " all here for their Christmas lunch .
Now sitting wishing I hadn't eaten so much !
