The Space Left Behind, Aylesford
Today's shot is something a bit different and got me thinking about the spaces we leave behind. The space left behind in this image is formed by the empty packaging from a small framed photograph I bought from Magnum called "Marieke In Venice" by Harry Gruyaert. If you haven't heard of him check out his photographs, particularly his wonderful images of his home country Belgium.
Sometimes the spaces left behind are ones we've created ourselves and sometimes those left by others. Often we don't realise what was there before the space was created. Even small changes where I live leave spaces and I can't always, at first, realise what was there before. Every space left behind has had a previous history, whether it's emotional, physical or metaphorical.
