Christmas Surprises

Some lovely Christmas treats came our way today. Mum was given chocolates by a parishioner when we arrived at church as a thank you for some assistance she has given them during the past year. Then the raffle we bought tickets for weeks ago and had forgotten about was drawn after the service. One of my numbers was first out of the hat, and I won the main prize of a hamper! It contains everything you need for an indulgent Christmas, including champagne (being hugged tightly by a teddy in my photo), wine, Stollen cake, after dinner mints, assorted biscuits and crackers for cheese, Christmas cake and pud, jars of pickle, chutney, jam and marmalade, plus more boxes of chocolates and sweets. And finally, we've also brought home what we're certain is a huge box of chocolates which our regular waitress had left wrapped up on our table when we arrived at the carvery for lunch. What lucky ladies we are!

Something tells me my weight-loss attempt is going to be on hold until the new year.....
