Another wonderful afternoon

Since returning home last Tuesday we have attended a number of festive events and parties and loved them all. This afternoon was 'Dervaig Does Christmas' starting off in the church with a choir and a general chat afterwards with all those people we either met yesterday or Friday ...or haven't seen for months. After this a visit to the small village hall to look at the competative gingerbread houses some great ideas and I imagine if DDC continues next year this will become an exciting part of the event.

Afterwards we wandered up to the the big village hall which was heaving! Absolutely Fabulous as they say. I bought a glass of punch and very good it was too turning out to be somewhat alcoholic*. Producers surrounded the room selling cards, shortbread, wonderful stollen (I bought a piece and a pork pie and.....) local pork, bacon haggis and so on, A great place to spend your money * although I should have avoided the punch, I met a friend and we both admitted to spending more through the punch laydened haze.

The best bit of all is catching up with everyone taking part in the raffle, quiz and yes the CHAT. What a great place to live.
Above is an example of the gingerbread house.
