A long day of driving down to see LooseCanon's mother in her nursing home.
The staff were trying to engage the residents in a conversation about Christmas. One old lady with advanced dementia but still with a strong voice who must have been nearly ninety, said ' I don't want any Christmas presents I just want my mummy and daddy'
I know it's just the random firings of an ageing brain but I found it quite heartbreaking.
Then on to see brother in law and his wife who happened to have some little Christmas hat puddings left that they had made for their party. We helped them eat up some leftovers. Very helpful of us I thought.
