Resin Bauble

I heard, saw and shot lots of goldcrests today but the light was very poor. I would have loved to have posted one that I captured high up in an oak tree with a backgound of oak leaves but it was just too grainy. :(

I bought some pine foliage the other day to add to all the other decking greenery. After I had cut the stems and put it in water it became wonderfully turgid. I noticed that a minute, beautiful drop of resin has oozed out of a terminal bud.

It's the season for resin. Both frankincense and myrrh are tree resins.
