A Christmas Delight!

Holkham Hall really know how to celebrate Christmas, dear friend B and I went on one of their Candlelight tours of the house.  It was a truly magical experience, from the moment of walking into the marble hall, where Christmas music was being played on a grand piano and we were greeted with the site of the stairway in front of us lined with illuminated Christmas trees.  From there we were taken upstairs and through a number of themed rooms which were imaginatively filled with Christmassy delights.  The extras show the ‘frozen feast’ (very ‘Miss Haversham’), where a traditional Christmas Lunch is captured in 'ice'. Also,  Santa’s store room, where an old traditional sled was piled high with blankets, cushions and presents;  even a couple of very cute looking polar bear cubs and an Arctic fox.
The evening was rounded off with a glass of fizz and a warm mince pie in their courtyard cafe...just fabulous!
