Perspectives
This morning I had a little discussion about "look, indicate, manoeuvre" road rage with a fellow driver. I was on my push bike in the right hand lane indicating to turn right at a three lane junction. Suddenly this white van man decided to overtake me then swerve in front of me to get into the first lane to go straight on. There were no other cars about, just me and him at the traffic lights. His window wound down and started effing and blinding at me "cos I didn't look before indicating". My response was "you were far away when I saw you which suggests you were perhaps driving a bit too fast". This only led him to throw more verbal abuse at me followed by some heated exchanges. I had no idea I am a knobhead AND a wanker. Shocked by what he called me I just replied "if that is the case, then what are you?" The lights changed and he drove off in a huff. I should've just wished him a Merry Christmas.
Amazing how dumb some people are. I mean if my temper was a short one God knows what would've happened. Funnily enough all this happened outside a police station.
Try putting that into perspective when one hears about the lorry driver incident in Berlin and a Turkish police officer who shot dead a Russian Ambassador today. Some troubling times ahead.
Give us Peace in our time.
