Aperture on Life

Flying back on Line.

I'm really quite grateful that I didn't do anything about the computers yesterday. When I went on this afternoon, McAfee had arranged an automatic fix for their bug. Once found the new link it was a doddle. Mel found her laptop was affected too, so three computers now fixed and online. You never know how much you miss things until you don't have them!

This little fly is a leucophenga maculata. I can't tell you much other than it's it's a true fly, tiny and seems to like to perch on these seed heads of a variety of Scabious, 'Paper Moon'.
The flowers are just slightly larger than most cultivated varieties, but look at striking the heads they leave behind. Wonderful for dried flower arrangements! The bonus for me is that they, like their wild cousins, attract a great deal of wildlife.

Lucy and Lachlan passed by to collect their Land Rover, Lulu. Pressed for time they only stopped long enough to have a cup of tea and to photograph a double rainbow which appeared in the sky. They are heading for a secret festival. Even as traders they know only the postcode of where they are to pick up directions. It may be quite a lot of fun.
