Mount Pond: Cayuga Duck
More unexpected in large.
I believe that this is a Cayuga duck (or a descendent of one); they're large domestic ducks, and have spectacular iridescent plumage... It is a shame that it was dark and raining, because the lack of light made catching the iridescence more tricky. I'm not sure what it was doing on Clapham Common, but it was a pleasure to see it!
I had fun photographing the birds on Mount Pond: Mr. and Mrs. were being naughty Goosles (on Mount Pond for a start, and staying out of clear sight on the mount), and there were a couple of other Egyptian geese flying around (driving Mr. mad).
My other photos are on Flickr (right from here).
