yes!
Antony and I have been keen to do a carol service in the square for quite a few years but we've never managed to sell the idea at church.... until now. We didn't know if anyone would show up but we bought enough gingerbread stars to sink a ship, heated enough mulled wine to feed a small army and hoped we'd get more than 10 people. And what joy! Hundreds showed up and we barely recognised anyone which was perfect - a real chance to enjoy community.
It was church for people who would never want to step foot in a church and it was just gorgeous. There's nothing quite like being surprised when your prayers are answered!
Only one minor tiny little hiccup - I was kind of concussed after whacking my head (twice). Oops.
