Helmsley Hall Country Show

Right down Angie's street and a fine British traditional country show. Everything from ferrets down trousers, steam engines, vintage cars, dog show, military brass band, whippets, shooting traps, some modern attractions such as helicopter rides and bungee jumping and best of all the massive horse show of which the very best part was the pony club competitions. She was fascinated by it and how fast and furious the little ones and their steeds went about their business. I don't think or at least have never seen anything similar in Germany.

Another thing she got to see was the hardiness of the British race. Toddlers in nappies on a North Yorkshire Moor on a windy, cool day wearing little more than a nappy and a cardigan - no woolly hat, no socks - to all intents and purposes, naked.

Returned via the North Yorks Moor - spectacular.

 A great day had by all.
