Drove up the ramp on to the P&O Pride of Calais at 7:57 am. Calm, damp, cool crossing before making the dash home and arriving at 21:00 (20:00 UK time = 12 hours for the journey) with most of it in the pouring rain. Angie did a lot of the driving as indeed she did in England. Didn't phase her at all unlike many of her countrymen who are very confident, experienced drivers but have a great fear of driving on the wrong side of the road and wouldn't dream of taking a holiday in the UK where they would drive or hire a car. London and public transport OK, but that's it.
Back home we then watched German TV covering the very subdued celebrations of the Queen's 40th coronation anniversary apparently after her 1992 "annus horribilis" she didn't feel like celebrating but couldn't go to the Derby and see Tenby beaten (see journal of 26th May).
Good trip. Much enjoyed by all.
