Sir Walter Raleigh's seal-die Governor of Virginia

This seal-die of 1584, in the magnificent exhibition at the British Museum on Shakespeare, is Sir Walter Raleigh's and proclaims him as 'Lord and Governor of Virginia' - the new colony named after Elizabeth I - the Virgin Queen.
