Timberyard
Into Edinburgh for a posh boys night out. First stop, on a cold, wet night was the Timberyard on Lady Lawson Street. I knew it was a fine dinery, but since I last visited they've adopted the modern approach of a choice less menu - just pick how many courses you want and they'll lighten your wallet accordingly.
In for a penny, in for a pound. The food was really good. And interestingly different too. Each course was small, but composed of multiple discernible delights. We loved it.
Then the Traverse for a one man show called Last Christmas about life, death, love and Swansea. I enjoyed it, a good mix of humour and pathos, but it didn't engage Angus. He had been up till 5 this morning, followed by a full day at school, so he was knackered, but maybe just not his cup of tea.
