Calm before the storm.
This picture was taken at 7.45am at the St Ives Lodge where we often meet for our morning walks.
There was a hint of sun coming up as we walked past the golf course and out into Altar Lane where we turned left onto the moors instead of the usual right to complete the circuit.
A little bit of sun appeared but then went straight behind the clouds. It was windier on the Moor but generally it was calm and not too cold.
Not so this afternoon. We popped in to see family visitors at my friend's house for a coffee and the wind was building up. Storm Barbara was on it's way.
Later we walked up to the top of the village where more friends were having an open house. It was blowing even stronger by then. This was a lovely festive start to the Christmas weekend and we were safely inside enjoying their hospitality when the downpour came.
The worst seems to have passed. I hope everyone in the UK and Ireland have survived the storm without damage and those travelling have safe journies.
Have a wonderful Christmas weekend everybody.
