Seasonal pursuits
...or another blip of desperation? Perhaps both together make up a suitable notion. The storm passed over and through Dunoon, and although there was an entertaining video of waves engulfing a defiantly lit Christmas Tree at the end of the coal pier, and a spell in early afternoon when even the Western Ferries went off, it was more dreary than spectacular. I even walked to the Co-op and back without getting especially wet. Hence the desperation - the only photo I took of the sea was so grey and dismal that it wasn't really worth taking.
This little collection of music, however, represents the fun part of the day, when the other two members of our seasonal (i.e. once a year) quartet appeared for a run-through of the music we'll be singing at Midnight Mass. One piece, Love Came Down at Christmas by Alexander L'Estrange, is new - it appeared in this month's BBC Music Magazine, with permission to download and use, and it's rather lovely. And we're singing Mr PB's Advent Song (my words!) and his Kilbride Mass with the annual fun of having the four parts in the Agnus Dei ...
Must remember to look out my tiny light for singing in the dark ...
