Snow clouds coming in
Adam got in quite late last night - a train, a bus, an aeroplane, a few more trains and eventually 9 hours later he arrived from Exeter to join us in Switzerland. Gavin and I were up early but seemed to wait ages for Adam and Thomas to get ready to go skiing - Luke was still feeling poorly so he did not join us. We had a good few hours skiing and then back down again for the boys to do some studying.
The forecast for tomorrow is snow. Looking at the horizon these clouds did seem like snow clouds, so I think the forecast will be accurate. If so, it will be our first white Christmas - last year this time we were also here for Christmas but it was warm and sunny on Christmas day.
A quiet evening in, some smoked salmon and blinis mini toasts (no blinis available in the supermarket here) for starters, and then some bratwurst and rösti for supper. Not very Christmassy but when in Rome....
I am thinking about my mother tonight on Christmas eve or Heiligabend as it is known here and as she knew it growing up - so too are my sister and brother. This time last year we never thought she would not be around to enjoy another Christmas.
