Brioche...

A Christmas morning treat.

Last thing yesterday I made a batch of brioche dough - a Paul Hollywood recipe - and left it in the fridge overnight to prove. This mornings job was to cut off about a third of the mix and divided into 6 , wrap local streaky bacon around each piece, prove again before placing in the oven. The result was very good although more bacon would have been fine. We later had a brioche bacon roll with a softly fried egg to dunk the bread.

The remainder of the mix was made into small buns eaten with Bon Maman raspberry jam (it is Christmas) and a cup of coffee to finish it all off.
