The fairy alternative

My Christmas tree is loaded with alternative decorations, many of which I have collected on my travels. This little figure is a representation of Oya, a Cuban santeria deity. She is a powerful female warrior who guards the cemetery gates. Entirely appropriate for my tree, where she replaces the traditional fairy at the top.
As this is Christmas Day, I have reached the end of my photographic "Advent Calendar" project. It has been a bit of a challenge, but an enjoyable one, to find 25 Christmas related subjects for blipping. Normal service will now be resumed ;-)
