Punch

This is a blip of one of the stone faces on the front of a building near my hotel. A plaque on the building proudly declares that Sir John Betjemen once called it 'The finest house in Swindon'. Apparently it also has secret panels and tunnels under the house. I'm not sure how true that part is but that's what a passer by told me as they stopped for a chat. There were a number of stone faces but I chose this one as it reminded me of Punch from Punch and Judy - the scariest thing about childhood seaside visits!

Staying with a friend on the way back tomorrow night and then home on Saturday. This week has been productive but I admit I am a little homesick. Despite knowing I am returning to a plumbing disaster that has left the house without water and a big hole in the kitchen ceiling, I am so looking forward to getting home.
