Disused coal mine at clipstone!!!

I have to say when I first saw this on the horizon I thought what a eye sore but it has grown on me. It's the tallest of its kind in Europe and only closed in the 90's. Apparently there is a big debate in the village to pull it down, but the coal board is arguing to keep it. Now coal is our history and I think tearing it down would be a shame, but then I don't have to live with it!!! Clipstone after all is a 5 min drive from where we are and if we walk to the edge of the forest we can see it.

Today our last day we have chillaxed reading, sleeping, watching squirrels, playing games a short walk out for dogs!! Forest settings really are relaxing, wish I was on holiday everyday, how loverrly would that be?!?!!
