Across Campbeltown Loch to the Isle of Mull
8.9C with squally showers and some bright spells. The weather forecasters had said named storm Conor wouldn't be as 'strong' as Barbara. I have to say they were as wrong as a wrong thing (normal for them of course!). From midnight we had wind speeds of up to 45 mph with gusts of up to 69 mph (fairly constant gusts were recorded in the high 60s mph all night). Gust have continued though the day to be well into the 50s mph.
Maeve the Deerhound's Birthday is Boxing Day. She is 11 today !
Unfortunately the wind noise in the chimney in our bedroom terrified her so much in the early hours that I had to get up and go walking with her at 3am. When we came back she was reluctant to go back into the bedroom so we spent the rest of the night in the living room. Her on her daytime mat and me on the sofa. I hope she will go to bed tonight !
Apothecary7 was working rota today, so she was in Main Street shop from 1o am until 2pm.
Maeve and I went for short walk round to the harbour after lunch.
The CalMac ferry MV Isle of Mull is still at the new quay.
When Apothecary7 got home we went for a walk out to the old shipyard. It was very windy out there and on the way back home we walked into the wind so it felt like twice the distance.
Harry Potter is on telly again.
Later there will be ... Turkey Korma !
