The Edge of the Wold

A calendar month has elapsed since the last blip.  And here were Gus and I in the same place watching the sun dissolve into the Bay from the top of the Knott.

I hope everyone in Blipland has had a good Christmas.  It was good to have a brighter day to get out to walk off the nut roast.

Yesterday, we had a quiet day at home, just the three of us, often thinking about last year when we were with the Old Flyer in Southampton.  Wifie had bought him a packet of York Fruits (which I didn't know still existed), and he ate them all in one go, leaving no room for his Christmas roast.  We had to improvise the meal in his cluttered kitchen, and yet it was as good a dinner as we ever made at home.  And that last Christmas with him far from our own home, and sweltering under the onslaught of desert winds from his central heating system, was one of the most enjoyable we have had together.

Though it's a bit early for reflections on 2016, we have been thinking about what a year it turned out to be, a year that started for us in A&E in Southampton after the OF fell out of bed on New Year's Eve.  So much of our world close to home was turned on its head, but then that was nothing to events in the world at large.
