Dear Shirley
Tom and I always see you for you birthday and at Christmas, at least.  And I have been calling and getting no answer, so today I wrote to Laura as she is the one neighbor for whom I have an email.  She told me you  died at the beginning of this month, and with our own issues we missed the obituary and just did not know.  Even though you have had so many health issues, and even though you were 89, oh Shirley, we miss you so much tonight.  You have  been a heroine to me in so many ways.  Bless you Shirley, I need your example in these pretty tough times.  And darned, I was so looking to our annual political talk, would have been something this year you liberal lovely thing you!  Your coffee cake without the nuts is all here ready to deliver. I guess we will put a candle on it - but it won't taste anything like it does with the three of us.  And I have some Christmas songs to play you on the cello - I will play them tomorrow morning - listen for them dearie.
Love from
Mike
