Note on the right, the corner of a Super Ser mobile gas heater. A legacy from the 1970's coal miners' strikes, and various other industrial disputes, that all led to the three day week (of work), and frequent power cuts. The happy times of doing school homework by candlelight; cooking on the camping stove; listening to a battery powered radio - all in the kitchen, the only room in the house being heated by said heater, whilst hoping the power would come on for long enough sometime, to ensure the contents of deep freeze or fridge wouldn't go off...
