Hastings Winkle Club.

Walking through Hastings Old Town today we came across this rather interesting placard and sculpture, in the background. If you are a member of the Winkle Club, you are presented with a small silver winkle which you should keep about your person at all times. If you are asked by a fellow member to 'winkle up' and you can't produce, a fine must be paid. All proceeds to good causes. Notable Winklers have been the Queen and the Queen Mother.
