Leaving the Lakes...

...via a quick detour on the road to the west of Thirlmere. This was used by the gap-dodging shuttle buses while the A591 was undergoing major repairs after the floods last year. The road is all hunky dory now and there is a new cycle path, but you can still see the scars on the hillside. This shot is looking south across Thirlmere towards Dunmail Raise, late this afternoon.
