Boxing Day: walkers on Studland Beach

This is the northern end of the beach, with Bournemouth in the background.  Hundreds of walkers are on the beach, but not all venture thus far (on the way they may encounter naturists, never an elegant sight).  This is a Boxing Day ritual for many locals.

What is eerie is that today NOBODY on the Beach is consulting their mobile phone or holding one to his/her ear.  Instead, they are talking directly to each other.  (OK, some of their mobile phones are being used as cameras.).  There can be no doubt about it: the world has turned completely mad.
