Today I've been busy with ringing. And there is a story to it...

Julie McDonnell was a fairly inexperienced ringer who was diagnosed with blood cancer. When she needed a second stem cell transplant she just scraped in before the NHS decided to stop funding for a second round of treatment. She felt very strongly that this was wrong and set about getting sponsorship to raise funds for Fight against Blood Cancer.
She managed to secure sponsorship, not only for every quarter peal (about 45 minutes ringing) of one of the newly named Julie McDonnell  methods rung but also for various challenges involving the ringing; such as a church with every letter of the alphabet, cathedrals special challenge, every county in England etc.
The Town Church Bellringers in Guernsey managed to ring this tricky method this morning thus putting Guernsey on her map and gaining extra sponsorship for the campaign. So far she has raised over £7 million so well done Julie and everyone who has rung in the challenge.
