The Forth Road Bridge.
Today’s cycle run was novel in that we used Blackness Yachting Club’s function room for lunch rather than the usual village hall. In a rather canny move, the club declined the opportunity of charging a fee (usually about £10) for the use of the room and kitchen in favour of providing refreshments and placing a donations bowl in a strategic position. The cyclists were happy with the arrangement and, with my experience of assessing donations at the cinema, I would guess that there was over £30 left. Estimates are usually on the low side.
On the way out, we stopped at the new visitor centre at the bridges and, while the others were making use of the facilities, I was scouting around for a blip. I was rather taken by the elegant lines of The Road Bridge from this viewpoint; and although the sky looks a bit gloomy here, the weather was pretty good.
