Cookout
First day in Hamburg, New York, my home town, and am spending it with the only family I still have left in these parts. My brother, Frank, sister-in-law, Colleen, and my 19 year old twin niece and nephew Caitlin and Michael. I'm staying with my Aunt Kathy.
I'm at Frank's house right now, the only place I've found with internet access, where Colleen was in charge of grilling the hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken. I'm not sure what stirred up the smoke, but she didn't seem to mind it - just stood right there in the middle of it tending to the food.
I'm having a nice day. Frank made a birthday cake for me and everyone sang Happy Birthday.
I am having a hard time adjusting to the three hour time difference, though. My Aunt had a meal ready for me when I arrived at 6 pm. It was dinner for her but my body clock said lunch. I was awake until an un-Godly hour and I was starving by then.
I forgot to bring my pain medicine with me. What a dumb ass thing to do. I went to the pharmacy here and that's one of the drugs they can't transfer to NY. So I had to call my surgeon's office to see if they will call in an emergency script to this pharmacy. I've been lugging around heavy stuff, thus the need to kill some pain.
Can't wait until the reunion festivities begin tomorrow!
