Hector's House

Two Towers

Today we packed up our camp, moved it all to Muhlberg (in Thuringen, between Gotha and Erfurt) and unpacked it again. The Bischoffs moved a little slower than us, encumbered as they were by their 'wohnwagen' (frankly, a much cooler word than 'caravan'), so we stopped off for lunch in the university town of Jena which is built around a massive central fernsehturm (that's the one on the left, in case you were wondering...) and square that form an interesting counterpoint to some of the older buildings that still cluster around them. It was a nice relaxed place for a picnic and an ice cream - and we managed to fnd a Sunday-open bakery with a good selection of cakes to take on to the new campsite for an afternoon kaffee und kuchen...

Songwise, I was blessed by the appropriately themed - if geographically inaccurate - and thoroughly mighty 'Bremen Nacht' by the Fall. Excellent!
