Sunset at the Tinkers Heart
I hadn't realized until this week that I have been working with Jess Smith for exactly five years to protect, maintain and promote the Tinkers Heart.
In that time we have managed to get scheduled status for it - despite two refusals - which is a great step forward. However now we must ensure better access, better signage and long term security for this remarkable artifact, the only one left by Scotland's traveling people.
It is now obvious that the best way to secure those important aims - indeed probably the only way given the continuing neglect of the site - is to transfer the Heart into the control of the charity set up by travellers for that purpose .
Consequently we need to find a way for that to happen despite the hostility of the landowner.
Anyway, as I drove past it late this afternoon there was a spectacular sunset visible along Loch Fyne which I was just in time to capture.
